Dr. Jovana Ruzic, assistant research professor. She received her Ph.D. degree (2014) in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy. Most of her research activities are focused on the synthesis and characterization of metal matrix composites obtained by powder metallurgy, applying powder metallurgy techniques in the fabrication of nuclear power plant materials, safety waste disposal, and investigation of the mechanical properties of various materials at elevated temperatures. So far, she has published 25 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals. Since July 2016, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at National Institute for Material Science (Tsukuba, Japan) and was a part of the Cross-Ministerial Strategic Innovation Promotion Program on Structural Materials for Innovation (SIP), funded by the Government of Japan. As a past Marie Skłodowska – Curie Individual Fellow, she worked on the project “DeMoMet: Design and modeling of metal matrix composites”, grant agreement No. 797372 (November 2018 – April 2020) at the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Sofia, Bulgaria.
