Dr. Dušan Božić, retired Full Research Professor / Principal Research Fellow. Received his BSc, MSc and PhD (1989) degree in the field of Metallurgical engineering at the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, University of Belgrade. He was on a specialization at the Max-Planck Institute, Stuttgart, Germany (1986-1987, 1989). At the Department of Material Science of the Vinča Institute of Nuclear Sciences, he was the Head of the Department for Powder Metallurgy. Dr. Božić’s research is focused on powder metallurgy and, in recent years, selective laser sintering and melting of metal alloys and composites on a metal base.

He coauthored around 200 scientific publications, including one scientific book (M. Mitkov, D. Božić, Z. Vujović, “Powder Metallurgy”, Belgrade, 1998), five monographs, one chapter in an international book and 4 technological solutions. Dr. Božić has published around 60 scientific papers in peer-reviewed international journals. According to the SCOPUS database, his research papers have been cited more than 950 times. Dr. Božić was the leader of six projects, including 3 fundamental research projects, 2 innovation projects, and one international project. He participated in two bilateral projects between Serbia and China, and also a project within the IAEA CRP project. He is currently engaged as an external collaborator on the project financed by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia within the program PRISMA. He is the principal researcher on the project financed by the Innovation Fund of the Republic of Serbia within the Technology transfer program.

Dr. Božić co-mentored three doctoral dissertations, four master’s, and three bachelor’s theses. He was also a professor at the Technical Faculty in Užice, Serbia, on the subject Powder metallurgy from 1994 to 2000. He was a member of the Board of Examiners for one international doctoral dissertation (India). Dr. Božić reviewed articles in a number of international journals, one textbook, and a research and development project. For many years, he was a member of the program committee, president of the section New materials, and editor of the Collection of papers for the scientific conference ETRAN. Scientific results of Dr. Dušan Božić have also found their application through cooperation with industry.
