Dr. Marija Prekajski Đorđević

marijaDr. Marija Prekajski Đorđević, Associate Research Professor / Senior Research Associate, graduated in 2009, at the Department of Mineralogy and Crystallography, Faculty of Mining and Geology. She obtained her doctorate at the same department in 2014. Since 2009, she has been permanently employed at the Materials Science Department, Vinča Institute of Nuclear Sciences. Dr. Prekajski Đorđević has been contributing to the field of materials science for many years, by creating novel synthesis approaches for various specific materials, ranging from solid solutions to nanocrystalline compounds doped with multiple elements, which have great potential for diverse applications. She is the author and co-author of 47 papers in high-impact factor SCI-listed journals. Her works have been cited more than 623 times (excluding self-citations of all authors) in international scientific journals indexed in SCI. Her Hirsch index (h-index) is 14, and she has presented her work at over 60 international and натионал conferences. She is the recipient of the annual award from the Institute of Nuclear Sciences “Vinča” for achievements in fundamental research in the category of young researchers. She is a member of the Serbian Society for Ceramic Materials and the Serbian Society for Innovative Materials in Extreme Conditions.

Dr. Marija Prekajski Đorđević is a member of the Editorial board of the journal Frontiers in Energy, is an editor for SN Applied Sciences, and reviews papers for several top international journals: Processing and Application of Ceramics, Journal of Advanced Materials and Processing, as well as the national interest journal Facta Universitatis, Series Physics, Chemistry and Technology.

Research projects and international collaborations: Dr. Marija Prekajski Đorđević has been involved in bilateral scientific cooperation projects between Serbia and Germany (2011-2012 and 2024-2025), Serbia and China (2013-2015), Serbia and Slovenia (2018-2019), Serbia and Croatia (2019-2021), and Serbia and India (2023-2025).
