Dr. Snezana Boskovic, Research Professor Emeritus, graduated from Belgrade University at the Technology-Metallurgy Faculty. From 1967 to 2008. she had been working in the Institute of Nuclear Sciences Vinca, in the Materials Science Laboratory. As an A.von Humboldt Foundation fellow, she was bound to the Max-Planck Institute, Stuttgart, Germany, where she did her Ph.D., too. The level of the senior researcher (highest level) she got in 1990. The level of the meritorious scientist of Serbia, she for from the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development in 2009. From 2001-2003 she was Assistant Director of the Institute of Nuclear Sciences Vinca in the area of technical/technological research. On the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of ETRAN Society, in 2006., she was awarded the Great Charter of ETRAN, for her exceptional contribution to spreading scientific ideas in the field of new materials. She used to give many times lectures both in the country and abroad.
She published over 300 papers which are cited more than 600 times, without auto-citation. Basic scientific interests can be summarized as phenomena occurring during the sintering of oxide and non-oxide compounds in the solid as well as in the presence of the liquid phase, (lattice defects influence, the activity of starting substances, etc.), diffusion mechanism study during sintering, and the solid-state reactions, mechanochemical activation, phase transitions, phase equilibria, developing methods for nanopowder synthesis(SPRT- self-propagating room temperature synthesis), and original modification of methods known in the literature(GNP), which are preconditions for preparation of nanostructural ceramic.
