Dr. Aleksandar Devečerski, Associate Research Professor / Senior Research Associate. He obtained his B.Sc. (1995), M.Sc. (2004), and PhD (2009) degrees at the Faculty of Physical Chemistry, University of Belgrade. After graduation, he was employed at the Faculty of Physical Chemistry of the University of Belgrade (1995-1997), while from the year 2000 he has been a full-time member of the Department of Material Science of the Vinča Institute of Nuclear Sciences, University of Belgrade (VINS). Dr. Aleksandar Devečerski won the first prize for the best scientific publication of the University of Belgrade students for the 1995/1996 academic year for his research paper „Thermochemical behavior of C60. Kinetics of decomposition in different atmospheres“ published in J.Serb.Chem.Soc., 62(1997)615.
His research activities are focused on the physical chemistry of materials, carbon materials, non-oxide ceramics, carbides, composite materials, nanomaterials, ecology, recycling of toxic waste, and wastewater treatment. Dr. Devečerski mentored one PhD dissertation successfully defended at the University of Belgrade. He authored/co-authored 46 publications in SCI-indexed international scientific journals and 1 technical solution (M82 – New technical solution applied at the national level). His research is cited 557 times (without self-citations, h-index = 14). He reviewed over 60 scientific papers submitted for publication to the SCI-indexed journals.
