Dr. Vladimir Pavkov

Dr. Vladimir Pavkov, Assistant Research Professor / Research Associate. He acquired the title of Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (B.Sc.) in 2014 and the Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (M.Sc.) degree in 2016 at the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. In 2023, he defended his doctoral dissertation titled “Synthesis and characterization of metal-glass-ceramic composite materials”, thereby obtaining the title of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) at the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. Since 2016, he has been employed as a researcher at the Laboratory for Materials of the Vinča Institute of Nuclear Sciences – National Institute of the Republic of Serbia, University of Belgrade. In March 2017, he was awarded the title of Junior Research Assistant, in February 2020 the title of Research Assistant, and in January 2024 the title of Research Associate.

His scientific research is conducted in the field of materials science in a broader sense, with a primary focus on powder metallurgy. He participated in the international military project titled “Explosive Trace Detection for STANDEX – EXTRAS” (G5526) from 2018 to 2022. In 2023, he was involved in the implementation of the H2020 project “Virtual Centre for Distributed Atmospheric Sensing for Reduction of Pollution Pressures” – VIDIS (GA 952433). He also participated in bilateral projects with Germany, Austria, and Belarus. In May 2023, he became a member of the Standards and Related Documents Committee KS C119 (Powder Metallurgy) at the Institute for Standardization of Serbia. In June 2021, he received the Annual Award in the category of young researchers for outstanding achievements in applied research, awarded by the Vinča Institute of Nuclear Sciences. He is the author of 8 papers published in SCI-listed journals, 2 registered and 2 published patents at the national level. He has also been a member of numerous international conferences’ organizing and technical committees.
