Dr. Jelena Maletaskic, scientific secretary of Center for synthesis, processing, and characterization of materials for application in extreme condition. She graduated finished a master’s (2008) and Ph.D. studies (2015) at the Faculty of Mining and Geology, University of Belgrade. Since 2011 she has been permanently employed as a research associate at the Institute of Nuclear Sciences Vinča at the Material Science Laboratory. Also, she was an adjunct assistant professor at Tokyo Tech Institute in Japan from October 2016 to April 2020. During her stay, she was a mentor of one student master thesis. From this collaboration, one patent was obtained: Ceramic Structures and Their Fabrication Process ин 2018. Her research interests are oxide and non-oxide nanoceramics synthesis with various synthesis procedure such as solid-state reaction, wet chemistry, hydrothermal synthesis, crystal growth by flux method, crystal growth during temperature-pressure treatments, mechanochemistry, hydrothermal synthesis, sol-gel, combustion, SPRT, molten salt synthesis; sintering; densification; phase transformations and material characterization: powder X-ray diffractometry, Rietveld refinement, scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, DTA/TGA/DSC (thermal analysis), FTIR, Raman spectroscopy, dilatometry, UV spectroscopy. She is the author and co-author of more than 40 papers in journals, cited more than 200 times, and presented her work at more than 20 international and national conferences. She is a member of the Serbian Ceramic and Crystallography Society. She has participated in bilateral projects and projects of basic research, technological development, and innovation projects. She was also a member of a bilateral project with JINR, Russia where she stayed twice for training in 2014 and 2015.
